Event Processing

One of the powerful features of CloudForms/ManageIQ is its event processing capability. An Appliance has the ability to monitor and respond to external (Provider) events, and also to raise its own events that can be handled by Automation or Control Policies.

Event handling has been substantially re-written with ManageIQ Capablanca (CloudForms Management Engine 5.5). The following sections examine the new Event Switchboard, and how external events are caught and internal events are raised and handled.
